Go Cornish collects and processes data provided on the registration form and on your application form for each Award Level. The Company is committed to being transparent about how it collects and uses the data and to meeting its data protection obligations.

Personal data is all information that relates or can be related to your person by assigning it to identification such as a name or to an organisation or personnel number with which identification is possible.

 

What information does the organisation collect?
The organisation collects and processes the below information about you, your school, and pupils. All information is collected through forms completed by the school.

The registration form collects the below personal data:

  • The name of the school’s Go Cornish Champion, job title, email address and contact telephone number.
  • The name of the schools Headteacher and email address.
  • The name and address of the school, number of classes and number of pupils.
  • If the school is part of MAT, we also collect the name of the MAT and a suitable contact within it, their job title and email address.

On submitting an award application, the below personal data is collected:

  • Evidence in the form of photos, videos, and screen grabs, all of which should be compliant with your schools safeguarding procedures.

Data will be stored in various places, including the website and IT systems (including the organisation’s email and file storage system).

 

Why does the Company process personal data?
The Company has a legitimate interest in processing personal data before, during and after the end of the relationship regarding their delivery of the Go Cornish Programme on behalf of Cornwall Council. The reasons for processing the personal data include:

  • To record Go Cornish schools on a Google map.
  • To monitor and report on engagement with Go Cornish programme to funders and delivery partners.
  • To monitor a school’s progress and offer support.
  • To provide opportunities to get involved with programme initiatives and events.
  • Keep schools informed of programme developments and new resources.

 

By submitting the data on behalf of your school or education setting you are agreeing to the below conditions.

  • By completing and submitting the online Registration form and Award application, you and your school or education setting agree to Go Cornish (“our”) and our delivery partners publishing your details and your school or education setting’s details as registered for Go Cornish on our websites, Google map, social media, reports and printed materials, including marketing.
  • The use of photographic images provided as part of your Award application for publication on the Internet for decorative design of the web presence of the programme, social media posts related to the programme, press releases, brochures, proposals, newsletters, presentation slides, evaluation reports, funding applications and other business-related materials. NB names of pupils are not collected at any time and so are not included.
  • Your details, and your school or education setting’s details as registered on the Go Cornish online Registration form will be shared with organisations who support Go Cornish, for the purpose of delivering our Go Cornish Programme, and for the purpose of analysing grants and research purposes.
  • You understand that we and our delivery partners may also share your details and your school or education setting’s details with third parties who support cultural education.
  • You agree to inform us of any changes to your school or education setting’s contact details. You acknowledge that these changes will be bound by these Data conditions.
  • We may change these Data conditions at any time and any such change shall take effect upon the new Data conditions being published on our Go Cornish website.

No data, falling under special categories, is collected or processed at any time.

 

Who has access to data?
Your information may be shared internally and with IT staff if access to the data is necessary for performance of their roles.

The Company shares your data with third parties necessary to the delivery of the programme, including funders.

The Company also shares your data with third parties that process data on its behalf i.e., Credly to award the digital badges.

 

Transferring your data
The Company will not transfer your data to countries outside the European Economic Area where there are no equal data protection measures in place.

 

How does the Company protect data?
The Company takes the security of your data seriously and has internal policies and controls in place to try to ensure that your data is not lost, accidentally destroyed, misused or disclosed, and is not accessed except by its employees in the performance of their duties.

Where the Company engages third parties to process personal data on its behalf, they do so on the basis of written instructions, are under a duty of confidentiality and are obliged to implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to ensure the security of data.

 

For how long does the Company keep data?
On leaving the programme personal data will be stored for the contract period, that being no less than one year but a maximum of five years.

 

Your rights
As a data subject, you have several rights, you can: –

  • Require our organisation to change incorrect or incomplete data.
  • Require the organisation to delete or stop processing your data, for example where the data is no longer necessary for the purposes of processing providing there are no legal retention periods to the contrary.
  • Object to the processing of your data where the organisation is relying on its legitimate interests as the legal ground for processing.

 

What if you do not provide personal data?
The data required on the Registration form and Award application is a requirement to join the programme.
