The holiday season is well on its way and it’s time to get into the Christmas spirit!

Go Cornish is hosting a day of Cornish language activities in Liskeard on Saturday 30th November 2019. All are welcome to join in the festive fun, whether you are a beginner, learner or fluent Cornish speaker.

11am-1pm: ‘Lergh Teylu Nadelik’ (Family Christmas Trail)

Pick up your FREE treasure map from Stuart House and join in the ‘Lergh Teylu Nadelik’ (Family Christmas Trail). Hunt the White Stag in Christmas window displays around Liskeard town. Learn how to answer simple questions in Cornish and collect holly berry stickers along the way. Bring your completed holly leaf card to the Public Hall for a free celebratory cakey tea. Maps are available until 12:30pm.

11am-1pm: ‘An Helgh Gwyls’ (The Wild Hunt)

Look out for ‘An Helgh Gwyls’ (The Wild Hunt), singing Cornish carols around Liskeard during the day and enjoy a performance of the Dando and His Dogs mummers’ play. One and all are welcome to join in the singing!

5.30pm: ‘Keskerdh Lugarn Ha Tanweyth’ (Lantern Parade and Fireworks)

Follow the Lantern Parade through Liskeard, leaving from the Cattle Market at 5:30pm before the ‘switch on’ of the Christmas tree lights and firework display.

6:30pm: ‘Gool Kernewek’ (Party)

Conclude the evening’s celebrations with a FREE yuletide party at the Public Hall from 6:30pm with music, Cornish dancing, food and a cash bar.
