We are pleased to announce Go Cornish is coming to Camborne, to deliver our award-winning Tales from Porth language programme for local schools.

Building on the success of three years in Penzance and two in Liskeard, we are looking forward to partnering with Camborne Council for the first time to deliver three professional development sessions for teachers in the Camborne and Redruth area.

Teaching and non-teaching staff are invited to attend these twilight CPD sessions, which are delivered by practitioners Joe Lewis and Pol Hodge. They will take place on Tuesday 25th June, 9th July and 23rd July 2019 from 5pm to 6pm at Camborne Library.

The sessions culminate in a Cornish Language Town Trail and Tea Treat in Camborne on Saturday 27th July 2019, for schools, children and their families. Artists will aid schools in creating shop window displays, which will be incorporated into the trail.

“The Go Cornish programme delivered to teachers on the ‘Tales from Porth’ resources was a really useful, practical set of evenings from which activities could be directly used in class. The session Pol Hodge did with the school was fun, interactive and inspired the children to want to learn more. The resources are great help to teachers and staff with any level of Cornish language knowledge. They play a key role in introducing children to the language, whilst giving them a knowledge of local history and their Cornish heritage. Perhaps most importantly – the children love it!”

– Mr Stephens, Coads Green Primary School in Launceston
